Introduction

My name is John Slyfield and I live in the Pacific Northwest. I hope to use this space to write about issues affecting transit in the Pacific Northwest. I will be focusing heavily on King County Metro and Sound Transit but will also feel free to chime in on other agencies as well. I’ve lived here in this region my whole life and I will share my experiences as I see appropriate. I’m trying to keep things positive as it appears agencies are doing their best to keep us moving.

Please be kind and courteous so I don’t have to block people from commenting but I will if I have to to keep this civil. This isn’t “X” where you can be mean to anyone without consequences.

Agency Holiday Service

Most agencies in the Puget Sound will be operating a Sunday schedule on certain holidays. Other agencies won’t be operating at all on some of these days. It’s helpful to know how your agency will be operating when a holiday happens.

The next holiday is Monday, December 25, 2023. Expect most agencies to operate a Sunday schedule. If the service does not operate on a Sunday it will not operate on this holiday. intercity transit will not have any service on this day.

On Sunday, December 31, 2023, agencies will operate a regular Sunday schedule. Certain agencies will give free rides the entire service day (3 am to 3 am) and King County Metro will have added service to get people home after the ball drops.

Much like Christmas, new years is a Sunday schedule. Again, Sunday schedule for most agencies. no intercity transit this day.
